The National Library of Medicine (NLM) helps you find all the answers to your questions in health care. The library's collection of medical BIREME has more than 8 million books, photographs, microfilms, magazines and other items. It is a resource for health, biomedicine and human sciences, technology and science as they relate to biomedicine. NLM has a site called MedlinePlus is a service of the NLM to direct the information to answer health questions. This site also has detailed information about drugs, an illustrated medical encyclopedia, interactive patient programs and the latest health news. NLM is located on the campus of the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, and is the largest medical library in the world. There are more rare medical works and the oldest collections of medical history within this library. The library has a reading room for the convenience items that can be ordered through the interlibrary loan system. The National Library of Medicine, once published a monthly guide of five thousand articles in magazines. The guide called Index Medicus began in 1879. The last issue was published in December 2004. In February 2003, the NLM launched a customer service representative named Cosmo virtual. Cosmo is a navigational tool to guide clients to information on the website of the NLM. Users can get help finding information on the health of drug users, medical databases, information and grant access on-line catalog. Members of the IOM are selected based on their background, such as the abilities and achievements. IOM works in different categories, such as mental health, aging, women's health, health of children. Moreover, there are also some medications such as Baylor University College of Medicine, who is a leading biomedical research centers. This center is located in Houston, Texas in the United States, with an area of 1,000 hectares, with 46 member institutions. There are 14 types of doctoral programs, such as neuroscience, molecular biology and biochemistry, immunology and cardiovascular sciences. It also includes the graduate program of nurse anesthesia, resident training and medical assistance programs. So it's a famous medical library because there are a lot of research and studies of drugs there.
